Web Page to Markdown Converter (Chrome extension) · Last updated: 29 September 2026
Summary
This extension does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal data. All conversion happens locally inside your browser.
What the extension accesses
- Page content: only when you click the extension icon, choose one of its right-click menu items or press its keyboard shortcut, the extension reads the current tab's content (or your highlighted selection) to convert it to Markdown. This happens entirely on your device. The content is never sent to any server and is not saved by the extension.
- Clipboard: the extension writes the generated Markdown to your clipboard only when you ask it to copy. It never reads your clipboard.
- Downloads: when you choose "Download .md", the file is created locally and saved by your browser.
- Settings: your formatting preferences (such as image and link style) are saved with Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.sync, which Google may sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers. No page content or personal information is stored.
What the extension does not do
- No analytics, tracking, cookies or advertising.
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No remote code: all scripts are bundled in the extension package.
- No sale or transfer of data to third parties.
Optional support link
The popup contains an optional "Support the developer" section with a link to an external Razorpay payment page and a UPI QR code. Opening the link or paying is entirely voluntary. Any payment is handled by Razorpay or your UPI app under their own privacy policies. The extension itself never receives or processes payment information.
Changes
